Research

The broad-ranging research at the University of Gothenburg is innovative, characterised by multidisciplinary cooperation, closely linked to education and stands in close contact with society.   • Ancient DNA reveals impact of the "Beaker Phenomenon" on prehistoric Europeans

    [23 Feb 2018] In the largest study of ancient DNA ever conducted, an international team of scientists has revealed the complex story behind one of the defining periods in European prehistory. The study is published this week in the journal Nature.

  • Researchers concerned about plastic consumption

    [23 Feb 2018] We are exposured to microplastics from our surroundings, and probably at much higher levels than those found in individual food items or drinking water. This has been shown by a new study in which researchers from the University of Gothenburg have participated. The researchers are now calling for a discussion about the consequences of the total global consumption of plastics.
